 Re: So I've finally learned how to use a multi-band compress Ahh... well use a spectrum analyzer, find the frequencies that mostly the snare takes up, and boost said frequencies.
I believe if you were to put a band after your high shelf, and dipped at around 12-14k and then dropped the overall high end on your drum bus, it would have a similar effect.

Re: So I've finally learned how to use a multi-band compress First off, let me say as someone who listened to the EP multiple times with the original master job that this is much better.
It's much more clear than the original.
However, I will say that there is still too much bass going on, I think you should keep it over-the-top on bass destruction because it sounds great for slam, but maybe just a little bit more tame.
In general, besides the electronic drums, this recording is a fine example of slam with organic, natural production.
The guitars are not like, compressed to all fuck and the bass audibility makes it slam with a fury.
I wish to get a very similar vibe going on GKM's first demo.
