It takes a fucklot of air to produce solid tones outside of comfortable spots of my range versus other motherfuckers, I feel like. I always remember being the one of the first to lose all my air during voice warmups in 9th grade choir. We'd do these long drawn out aaahhhss and I'd be pissed off because everyone else would last a good amount longer.

Just remembered I never shared this mix of this song with you d00derz after (almost) finishing it. It still needed some tweaks (the ridiculous Jurassic Park melody that comes out of nowhere at the end is far too quiet) and I was hoping to have Eric record a piano solo over the middle section but otherwise, thing was almost done. Gonna be interesting re-recording it having lost the HD, as I really liked some of the subtle nuances of the drums that I fear I won't really be able to recreate and the notgreatatallbutexpressive quality that the vocals have.

Really happy with the mix (and generally really proud of this song) besides a couple things. I was pretty much high as fuck on butane hash oil for all stages of this, even though the beginning and end sessions were probably separated by 9 months or so. The drugs may or may not be really apparent. Maybe not so much in the performances, as they are pretty decent by my standards, but more in the general vibe of the recording.

This is, uh, a really goddamned weird song. Pitch is fairly wonky, but thing is so non musical as it stands that I don't think it matters? That is way up in my register for the loud, nasally Whatever Brains sort of vocals that forms what one might call the chorus, and I can seem to do whisper-ish vocals with much luck of not falling flat. Anyway, I think I like it. I am not sure however, if this will be the final or if I might want to mess with the structure or the vocal arrangement.

It's one of the arpeggiator settings on my Microkorg (used to be Chris') though it is not really arpeggiating on this particular preset, but it does the rhythmic stabby things.

Some weird bullshit that took quite a turn away from my original intentions. I will have to give this another (less sloppy, less silly) shot at this later. Getting the sample to work in a consistent manner was not working out for me, and so I opted for the broken up hip hop beat instead of a normal consistent one so as not to throw myself off anymore than I already would.
