Short flash of inspiration last night led me to writing/recording this in about an hour. I thought it was quite White Stripesy, but Guitar Jam say its more Pearl Jam :idk:

The "bass" sounds awful, I can't get Amplitube 3 to work as well as 2 did - always end up getting a muddy rumble on certain notes

Conversely, I love my P90s

Aye, i think it goes to show how much of how the White Stripes stuff is perceived, is due to where Jack White's voice and guitar takes it.

I hear what you are talking about, but also what the Pearl Jam camp is saying.

In short, it is.. too well-executed for the White Stripes. :red:

Particularly the solo.

As a whole though, it is put together too solidly and played too smoothly. Jack White is way more "hack at it until it stops fighting back" in his execution.

None of that is good or bad.

What you start on definitely is Stripesy, but then it gets tighter and more cohesive, instead of flailing and more reckless.

That is where the Pearl Jam thoughts come in i think. Those guitarists definitely come more from the classic rock school than the drunken garage rock one. They have their shit together too well to sound really out of control, and so sir, do you. :huzzah:

What you've got is good. Run with it.

Definitely getting some of that grunge vibe. HEEEUUUUU YURRRRRR AM STILL A LAAHHHHHH, YEEEEYEE. Or like maybe Silverchair circa Frogstomp?
For the bass tone a little mid scoopy EQ should help, I think.

I think you have done something very good here.

I can just hear Eddie Vedder screaming over this.

Or, even better: Geoff, doing an Eddie Vedder impersonation.

I would also like to hear that. Make it so.

I'll have to fuck around with the bass some more. It's annoying but I suppose my own fault for being too cheap to buy a bass (which incidentally I think is still out of stock everywhere) :red:
