Scoopyscoopy, but pretty defined, I think. I liked the dissonant stuff. I've been pleasantly surprised when I've run into Engl stuff in person; kinda strikes me as a meaner Marshall IRL. What do you think of it? |

I can see the meaner Marshall in there. I find it a kind of squishy sounding amp... like there's a compression circuit built in the power amp or something. Super gainy, doesn't really need a boost but I boosted it anyway. The clean channel is also surprisingly good. I was using a dual mic setup on this one, my E609 and SM57 combo, so that might be why it sounds so scoopy. |

Dark like a Mesa Recto, but with an edge to the dirt like a Marshall. Shit ton of cab bump to it, that lower mid hammer punch shit. Seems like the kind of sound that would be rad as fuck for a solo guitar, but maybe be hard to fit in a mix without 'getting stabby' with the post EQ. |

I'll try it in a mix pretty soon. I'll have this amp for a week or so then give it back to it's rightful owner. |

co guitarist of mine had a Screamer couple of years back, it sounded good by itself, but piercing the way he had it set up in the band mix live, since then I've not really ever given them a chance. I categorize amps too quickly like that. |
