Faders @ 0; all I did was pan 'em. No effects save for what was printed during tracking (compression, EQ, and yes, distortion.) Listening back I realized I must have forgotten to turn off my experiment with Flex Time in one of the parts, which would explain the bit of snare flamming. I don't do much in the way of drum edits- don't usually need to, so I'm no good at it. :lol:

Anyhoo, bigass old Pearls and Zildjian As in Epic Room O' Death with some unfathomable amount of mics on 'em. Kick in/out/sub, snare top/bottom, toms, overheads l/c/r. smashed LDC over the whole kit, hats, ride, close rooms, far rooms, ceiling and a Green Bullet distorted-to-fuck just for good measure. No tambourine mic because there's no tambourine in this.

Once I make some sense of the giant mess on my hard drive I'll poast up something (thank you joey for the FTP space. No disassemble Wombat no. 5!) with the individual tracks.

It's not as... whumpy this time around, I don't think. I guess it's tuned a bit higher? The snare sound, if you dissect it, is mostly the overheads and room.

I like anything where editing it actually makes it worse. :lol: I was fucking around with Flex Time 'cause it allows non-destructive editing, but I didn't quite have the hang of it and honestly leaving the drums pushing ahead of the beat in the double-time part works. The drum machine part there has no kick or snare so it should be cool.

Dude is all about the hats; there's 16th notes or disco grooves all over the place. I like the way they accent the beats in the less busy sections; a proper DOWN/up/DOWN/up thing and aren't [i]quite[/] exactly on the up-beat. That with the kick and snare mostly being dead-nuts on is basically perfect as far as I'm concerned.

am i hearing click in parts of that? I am at work on shitty 'phones but hearing click track in parts. Need to give a proper listen later at home

My sincere condolences if you were! I hate the things; I can't play to 'em. Drums yes, click no. I don't know how drummers do it. I figger if he's burying the click, this is good.

Really the click is the only thing I would need changing. It is up to you and what you want to invest into it :idk:

I just need drums to play over.
