Okay, perhaps it's not quite that manly and Western. :mexican:

Teleblaster is on the left. Chain is Tele --> EHX Pulsar --> Eventide --> EHX Cathedral --> AC30. High gain input of Top Boost, jumpered to Normal. Normal volume around 10:00, Top Boost around 12:30, Treble and Bass both around 1:00, Cut full off. (Thank you again Chris for that idea; I've rolled that way ever since.) 57 and Shure LDC on an Alnico Blue around 2" back from the grillcloth.

The right-hand guitar is the Strat through the same chain.

From an overdub session for the Garda stuff. A random couple takes of riffs. Not the real keys, bass or drums. I brought in... five tracks of drums from a random take (OHs, filthy Green Bullet, kick in, snare top) to have something to track to. The parts aren't mostly even in the right order, and who knows if they'll be used. Just shit for me to cut up and fuck with.

Set some levels, did some basic panning, rolled with it. Raw traxx. No EQ or other fuckery.

Dialing in the tremolo by hand did sorta suck. I like the EHX trem, but you wouldn't happen to know if there's a good trem pedal with tap tempo out there?

I might have a distorto-heavy clip up later.

Kids like the Empress one($250), and Line6 also does one in ToneCore form($50-70?). Those are the first two that come to mind.

I think there is a DIY one out there IIRC also. I seem to recall seeing a PCB somewhere. (edit: yarr, here: http://musicpcb.com/pcbs/tap-tempo-tremolo/)

That clip was all kinds of twangy goodness. Nice find. :isay:

I would recommend the Goatkeeper as an awesome tremolo with tap tempo and lfo capabilities (run it into your Geiger counter).

I've only used it maybe twice, I use my Tuna Melt more, but only because it so simple and small. The ToneCore tap trem is real nice. It's not noisy and does the proper job, I've have just used my tuna melt for a lng time and the one tune I'm using it live for right now I open the song with it, to it sets the timing for the song right from the get go... creature of habit....

Very nice. I love the tele into AC30 sound - I struggle to think of what I would use one for but this sounds most snaxcellent :isay:

It should be noted that whilst finishing up the proper album version of this, I tuned my Strat to B and recorded a baritone part in one of the sections. Thus making the song impossible to duplicate live with one guitar unless I played a seven string with a trem. Which would be an absolutely hilarious song/guitar mismatch.

I've thought of getting Agile's Tele seven before. Even better were it a baritone scale, but I can deal with 25.5 in B. The Bigsby would be a bit more difficult. But that would be a really awesome guitar when all is said and done.

It has been suggested by my band that I borrow an Ibanez seven with a middle-position single from a friend of mine just to play this song live, because anyone who had any idea what was going on would be really confused and it would be epically amusing.
