A couple of songs in the making..
As I have stated before, I am a pretty shitty guitarist (though I am getting better) so excuse the slop. Also, these are rough and mildly improvised takes so these are not final in terms of structure and whatnot. This first one is a tricky (for me) little mathrock type riff I wrote from being inspired by Devin's song Strings, sort of has the same string skipping feel and a similar rhythm. I can't play it this fast too cleanly yet but I'm working on it; http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13745148/String ... 8sloppy%29This is a pretty cliche indie rock strummy type deal.. It goes to shit at the end because I can't play that last riff well at all.. Or play it at all really. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13745148/Indie%20rock%20thing

Re: A couple of songs in the making..
Copypasta'd from FB:
"The first one is pretty damn cool, I could see myself playing such material, I definitely hear a MM vibe too. The second one's main riff gives me a third-wave ska/punk vibe. Chords are nice and chunky sounding."
The fact I can inspire anyone to anything is quite comical though.

Totally cool, both. You should run with it. When you get back from Alaskatown, you should full them up with drumsing and all.

Well, you know how much I've always dug Strings, mang. I don't what it is about that song, but something about it is just perfect to me, the string skipping and note choice is kinda what THAT kind of music is supposed to sound like to me. So I fuggin' ripped it off.

Re: A couple of songs in the making..
Thanks, man! That's what I have been meaning to do. Since I shall be kickin' it with Devin at some point I have been thinking I could have him bass on this shit as well, though this would be the first time he's hearing about this. I always want to do some vocals on this shit, I could hear yell-y type shit over both (which is more or less all I am good at, IMO) so who knows what this could turn into.

Re: A couple of songs in the making..
I am no good at playing bass like a bass player, so I figured it's a purdy solid idea.
