This is a track Mike Moriarty posted on facebook, he did all the guitaring and programming, I told him I would be down to do vox and he told me to go right ahead. :huzzah:

Anyways, this is with some reverb from ReaVerb and some compression from ReaComp. But like, I don't think the compression is working..? There are huge volume spikes on the vocals, and I set the ratio to 1:20..? I feel like there is some retarded setting that I am missing. I like the reverb mix that I got, but otherwise I am kinda stumped..?

But, that noise about 1:57 is pretty gross. Fairly proud of that. I used a SM58 on the growls and the 990 on that little gurgle bit.

Mike Moriarty is still out and about? Sounds like he has improved his recording means a fair bit.

Vocals sound good. That have that nice tore-up-flapping-bloody-flesh-bits-in-the-back-of-the-throat sort of quality to them. I am a little less into the section/style @ 1:50 or so, but they do sound good for that style.

Overall, as far as the way they are mixed, they are sitting a little on-top-of or to-the-side-of the rest of the music, but i suspect that might be because they are recorded over an already more or less mastered/compressed track?

Try lowering the threshold on the compressor if you feel it needs more squashing... I find br00tz vocals can be brutally compressed, often in fact needing it to sound polished.

Sound good mayne, I think you've improved!

Interesting that you prefer the Shure for growls and a condenser for gutturals, I am the opposite

Alright, finally got compression going. I think this sounds pretty damn alright?

Done. Definitely rushed the last half of the performance and mixdown. BUT I DON'T GIVE A FUCK. BECAUSE THERE ARE DRUGS THAT NEED TO BE DESTROYED.
