Post Snaxopop: Fisticuffs.
I was bored. I wrote somewhat poppy synth-rock song. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13184331/Fisticuffs.mp3

Needs a bridge. And an arrangement. This will probably become a Garda song. I deliberately avoided any fancy guitaring here- the end result would have been "Japanese Game Soundtrack" or "Joe Satriani Backing Track Remix", and I do not want that. This should, in the end, be at least as much dance as rawk.

It is bouncy and pleasant. I like the thing that sounds like a 16bit emulation of an electric guitar. I would like to hear the oddpercussion(sounds like a pseudo woodblock almost? Or an electronic bullfrog?) more loudly in that last section. :isay:

There's a bunch of crap in there for the drums; I layered up a bunch of things from Stylus RMX, some 909 samples, Toontrack's Electronic EZX, and "real" kick/snare/hats in Kontakt. The Electronic Bullfrog would be Stylus, doin' it's thang. I'm rather partial to that sound myself and am going to call it the Electronic Bullfrog from now on.

The NES cartridge "guitar" is one of the stock analog-emulating synths in Logic so belovéd of pop producers.

I have no idea what I'm going to do for a bridge, but having the rest of everything drop out where it does at the end of the current version is probably a good start for one, listening back.
