So i fucking won't. This is something odd for me, that will prolly sound like the same old shit to you. Originally this is/was an acoustic thing on a nylon guitar. For gigglesandshits i decided to try to play drums to it. Once again, i messed up the timing in translating it to scratch tracks that were consistent enough for me to record to, but fucking whatev... Thing Of Olde. There was a bass, but it sucked, and the incessant buzz of the fans sapped my will to fixxit, so it is gone now.

Yes, the riffings are very cool. Kind of for some reason makes me want to hear a string ensemble along with it? How are you pointing those overheads? |

Glyn Johns all day longs, Tor's MXL990s. I think i have them set like 70-80% L+R in the mix. I also have the whole drum buss sent off to a kind of slammed-to-shit limiter that i have just a smaller amount of in the mix. That is what is giving the cymbals much of their sound. Additionally, one of the snare mics has a ton of hi-hat on it, i forget if it is top or bottom. Probably top, because that is the MXL2001 and it picks up a lot of stuff. |

This is too melodic and has major key bits for what you normally do- the riff around 0:25 reminds me of Iron Maiden. So, no, not the same ol' shit.I can hear what you're saying about the hats. 'Cause there are a lot of hats, and they seem rather centered. Parallel SMASH! on the drum bus is almost always awesome. The song is cool though. I hate to say it, but this does sound like a whole complete arrangement here. I mean, sure, there's no bass at the moment, and no vocals, but this is treading awfully close to, er, finishing something. |

I totally hear that Maiden thing. Though i really dislike Maiden. Partly what it is, to me, is that part is one that changed too much in timing from the old way, something i did somehow in the process of making it consistent in timing enough for being able to record to. I didn't realize it, but what i wound up doing kind of made it go from being sort of a strange off time thing, into kind a really bouncy 4/4 or something. And then all of the melody chords do the rest.

Also, it IS kind of weird how this has like all of the parts of a thing that a "song" generally has, right? Also also, now i can't NOT hear the Maiden thing. You sonuvabitch.

Aha, yes, I thought Glynn Johns or something. It has that trademark sound of the ride and floor being off to the side... The parallel comp is adding some nice juice.
