Let's see if this works; I have zero experience with this sort of thing. :red:

Does work! Sounds quite good for vidyo. And quite like the recoarding indeed. :huzzah:

I enjoy the fashion in which your keyboardist has been exiled to the opposite side of the (huge?) stage. It is indeed important to keep them somewhat quarantined from the general population of bandfolks. :red:

We discovered there was a catwalk, so we stuck the keys out at the end. It actually sorta works visually, especially as a lot of the vocalating is being done from there. :nods:

I have a bunch of video kicking around, some of which is even presentable now that I know I can edit it down (the whole thing's like twelve gigs?) and upload it. And as you said, sound is reasonable for a camera in the crowd.

Never Let The Bassist Write The Song, or, 212, aka Barnyard; Bernard; Bernie The Song, etc.

I'm not sure if any of us actually like the thing, but we keep playing it anyway, on and off. Too... Something, too hardrockish. The drumming, in parts, is really damn spiffy though.

Guitars throughout much of it strike me as rather Duane Dennison-esque, which obviously i am like... into.

Aslo, truefax about the drums being interesting and proper swell. :huzzah:

They are almost... too interesting? (No, i don't think that is possible really.) I would like to hear a cleanly recorded version of this though, get a clearer pictar of what the guitar is doing and all that.

I transcribed(ish) the guitar so my bassist would have something to work off of to re-write the bass part at home, but my playing it through amp sims makes it sound more like Iron Maiden or something. It needs the feedback and general skronkiness. 'Cause I'd prefer this to be more Duane Denison-ish, myself, more post-punk than hard rock.

But yeah, drums on this are spiffy. (There's that ride/bell of the hats beat again...) When we veer out of dance-rock territory, the drums start getting pretty damn interesting.

This does not officially exist for copyright reasons.

All of you bitches need to dance.

Gonna have a drink and fuck around; I've got a lot to drink about.

I'd sorta like to do a real version of this some day.

Due to a quirk of the lighting and camera compression, it appears at points that you are wearing Renaissance Fair type tights here. I don't know why that struck me just now, but i think it might have something to do with not having had coffee yet.

I am unfamiliar wif the original. What type of sound was it?

Aslo, what do you use for a slide? Has a good sound to it.

 The boots, no doubt, add to the effect. Which was not intentional. (sparkly silver jeans, if you must know. I would have something like that, wouldn't I?)

The original is late '80s alt-rock with ladysinger. It's by Concrete Blonde. We actually do it fairly straightforwardly, albeit a bit heavier and noisier (as we're wont to do).

For a slide, I'm using an actual vintage medicine bottle. The guy at the guitar store near my house scavenges them from flea markets and the like, and re-sells 'em for sliding porpoises. I found two that fit, and keep a clear one at home and use a green one for rehearsals/live, because it's green. (And, also, a lot harder for me to lose, because it's green.)

I only ever use it as an effect, really- at least in the context of real songs- and that should probably change. I should write a real slide part into something. Preferably something not at all bluesy, too.
