Post Architeuthis Redux
Some piano-y shit I've been fooling around with since yesterday. Mated, naturally, with random electronic blips. Architeuthis redux :dukes:

The weird pannning drum thing is SonicCouture Konkrete feeding a bunch of shit on an aux send (Soundtoys Crystallizer --> Echoboy --> Waves NLS buss --> Logic Space Designer w/Bricasti drum chamber impulse --> plain ol' Logic comp/limiter) with the send panning opposite from the track. Rest of the drums are a mix of Konkrete (fakedrums) and Analogue Drums Kingpin (fake-realdrums). Izotope Vinyl for the ugly intro.

No idea what, if anything, this'll wind up being or developing into, or if it's just going to wind up in the bone yard of half-formed ideas. :idk:

I rather enjoy the old timey scratchy recoard vibeyness of it all.

Like an obscure edison wax cylinder from back in the day, made by a time traveler with an 808.

:huzzah:

More time travelers should bring 808s. They come in handy.

The Edison wax cylinder thing gives me a few ideas for when I come back to this. I have an acoustic guitar bit I've worked out, but I'm not really sure how to develop the thing into a song. Vocal melody too, if no real words, but that started to get a little... Too far into obvious Radiohead territory.

I'm left waiting for a decent rapper to bust out a sad story :idk:

If I knew one, I might go there here. You do not want to hear me try to rap.

Might be why I've been looking for good hiphop lately. I love that feel- unsurprising given the sort of mid-tempo electronic noises I like to make, which really lean more toward that direction than, say, industrial, which is what one would probably expect. But I'm not really a connoisseur of the genre, so I have a bit to learn.

It is quite good. Love the blippy scratchy noises. And the darkness of the pianer.
