http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13184331/Orchestra_test2.mp3Strings are a combination of Cinematic Strings 2 for each of the individual parts (1st and 2nd Violins, Violas, 1st and 2nd Celli, Basses) and Kirk Hunter Strings (full section, single MIDI track duplicating the exact same parts as written for the others) mixed low. A bit dark-ish, that one, but those have some beautiful vibrato. Bassoon, clarinet and French horns are all from Miroslav Philharmonik. Solo bassoon and clarinet, ensemble
fortissimo horns.
'Verb is Altiverb, Teldex Berlin scoring stage impulse. Sent the 'verb to a second aux with Waves S1 set to full wide and the gain pulled down a bit.
I can't quite seem to get this thing balanced right between the ADAMs and the cheapie Sennheisers. Need to get the Grados fixed. This is something of a compromise, though it's close. I think the clarinet is a bit loud-ish on the monitors, but otherwise it disappears on the 'phones.
The strings are taken from the extended intro to a Garda song from the new record. I wanted to try the Cinematic Strings library out for this, and, er... Wound up adding some other shit over the top.
The actual song intro version has the Prophet, Absynth and Stylus RMX over it.
The really proper symphonic version I have no clue what to do with! Bring it back as a reprise at some point? The additional harmonies and instrumentation change the feel of it a lot.
