Ah, something almost Corgan-esque going on with the vocals...
The guitar and bass tone combination is interesting and different. I think I like it.

Re: Silence Is The Loudest Sound Of All- vocal demo
I can see (hear) the Billy Corgan thing. It's almost intentional. Partly just what happens hitting notes up there with the way my voice sounds. It's more-or-less the same voice I sang the verses of Imaginary Girl in but louder and through what's supposed to be a guitar fuzz. I kinda like what's going on with the guitar/bass myself. For the guitars, I just had a big Shure condenser hanging off one of the top side handles on the amp, so it's a fair bit off-axis. The bass, when not fuzzed to all fuck, is very... round sounding. Or it's fuzzed all to fuck. There's definitely some Pumpkins influence here, both conscious and not. I should try the Maplifiers hosting service.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way.. but I kinda preferred it as an instrumental. I think the nice glitchy drum sounds and gorgeous clean guitar tone get too covered up by the vocals. Nothing against your voice though, it's a good'un edit - actually after giving it moar listens through proper speakers (not laptop ones) it's fine and now I look forward to the rest of the song

Re: Silence Is The Loudest Sound Of All- vocal demo
I mixed the vocals too loud. It's just a songwriting demo, anyway. It was quasi-mixed on a set of Polk bookshelves at The Snaxodrome.
BTW! To answer your question from Tonesettings, which I somehow still remember, the glitchy drums are actually the stock drum sampler in Logic. I don't remember how they were processed, but I doubt it was anything special, just a modeled FET compressor and Flux BitterSweet, which is a transient shaper. (And free, and awesome for adding punch to drum samples, especially after they've been compressed.)
I don't know where I'm going with the thing anyway; we'll see. The vocals were a quick one-off just to get the idea "to tape", as it were.
Oh, and the clean guitar is Strat (stock middle pickup) --> Eventide Timefactor --> EHX Cathedral --> AC30, Shure KSM27 off-axis on a Celestion Blue straight into the preamp on a Focusrite interface. The gain tone is Strat --> Fulltone OCD --> said AC30 chain.
