Furthermore, the Novation sucks ass as a controller for some things. The velocity is all wonky. It does not play like a proper apparatus, and I feel like I'm gonna break it to do proper pianothings on there. Completely unweighted action. So the playing's a bit shit. Still: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13184331/randompianocrap.mp3

The Toan, though, is there, and doesn't sound like a fake-y synth piano. Bitches would never know, they'd just think I was a sloppier mess than I am usually.

This is what I used for samples: http://www.imperfectsamples.com/website/samples/braunschweig/braunschweiguprightpiano.php

I can hear what you mean with the controller. It is overall a little dark, and the transition from dark to brighter with increased pressure seems a off, or rather, over-emphasized.

But it does sound pretty fricken good. The samples must be looong? Is it a very large software?

The playing is pretty sweet, too. :huzzah:

Something like eight gig for the version I have. :snax: Just for a single instrument, it's a bit much, but fuckit, this is one of my main instruments, so... No EQ, as well, though I get the "a bit dark" thing. I prefer it to the unrealistically bright pianos I hear on things. Especially as it's an upright, it sounds like, well, a good upright. Even if I have to slam on the controller to get any level out of the thing at all.

My Alesis for some reason just doesn't want to get along with the MIDI in on my inyourface. Perhaps because I've had it for like 18 years? :red: :snax:

I am fond of the actual mechanical sounds of it being a piano. I would totally use this on a record. No one would ever know in a mix. It's hard to tell solo. Especially with a better controller that actually responded properly. I have no idea how they miced this thing up, but it's all there, down to the releases of the keys.

And thank you thank you. :rawk:

Man, that really is realistic sounding. I would never guess it was an emulation. And yeah, bossness playing. I've always dug this style of stuff. :huzzah:

Fuckin' Snaxie. I love how he just happens to be able to kill a piano as well.

I agree with Chris, it is a bit realistic how late the samples make the transition from softness to properly hammered notes.
