These last two are poppin'. Still totally hearing a parallel between your and Josh Homme's vocal phrasing.

Re: Sounds From The Cave On Trash Mountain.
Bad part about a new system/installing everything, is that absolutely nothing is where you left it, settings, plugins, etc. This system has a different sound setup too, so the speakers(the same speakers) sound totally different to me. A lot/all of this, has to do with the new system being capable of feeding all 5+sub of my speakers, where i was just running 2+sub before. I would rather not disable all of the extras all the time, so as a result, the sound between recording/mixing(which uses the same setup as before) sounds very different from general playing back in media player, etc. Probably not bad to hear it both ways, but it is fucking weird just the same. As a general aside, the time may be nigh for me to finally get some sort of minotaurs set up to keep a bit more consistent with the baseline. I don't really want to spend the money on them though. Besides, it is not like it really matters, here on trash mountain... Of Fictive Kinships And Sports Analogies.Reverb settings in particular need to be figured back out again; they are a bit much for me right now(maybe a subtle difference for you foalks(i.e. buried in the filth and general low quality audio), but it is pretty glaring to me, and also hard to adjust/fix them properly at the moment with things sounding so weird on this new box).

I like this one a lot. As usual, tasty chords and melodies.

Re: Sounds From The Cave On Trash Mountain.
Tanks! Been giving so much time lately to work and technical bullshit with the new PC build, i am a little out of practice with actually playing anything right now. Figure i just need to start doing it and let things sort themselves out. Not having to go to work for a couple/few days in a row was decently helpful.

I need to be a lot less lazy and set up my drums for recording. What You Would Call It Next Time.

Re: Sounds From The Cave On Trash Mountain.
Gently Sways...This one is very old, somewhere around 1998-9 i think. Popped out of no where back into my memory yesterday so i tried it. I used to use a lot more reverb back then, so it sounded weird to me with the lesser amount i try to use in the modern era. Also, either i originally recorded it tuned down a bit back then, or it is here to act for me as a pretty good practical example of how my range is a fair bit less than it used to be. The chords are still where they used to be but the voice, not so much.

Re: Sounds From The Cave On Trash Mountain.
Thanks man, but i am only just barely hitting those, and not very consistently at that. I used to be able to hammer the shit out of that and well above.
I think some of it might just be lung capacity/strength issues actually. I feel like i have less air available in there or something.

Re: Sounds From The Cave On Trash Mountain.
This doesn't sound incredibly disimilar to my ears to Repeater-era Fugazi to me for some reason as of the first riff. Ah and now, it is gone. Also, it might be a tone thing. This shit is cool, dude. Would like to hear it with drums, but I assume that it is pretty much done, yes?

Re: Sounds From The Cave On Trash Mountain.
Was going to try to drum it, but i just dun have the time right now, and history has shown that i am unlikely to return to these things after the fact, to do what i wanted to at some point with them. So there it is.
I also have the additional problem of not really having what i would consider an appropriate snare for the type of sound i would like to hear. In general, i have really soured on the sound of my snare, actually. Not really doing what i want it to. Time to start looking for some cheap (it will have to be real cheap for me to be able to do it soon) 6.5 ludwigs, supraphonic or acrolite ideally. One used to be able to snag an acrolite for like $80. I have to look around to see what folks get for them now. I am guessing, a small pile more.
