Aw hell, I might as well give yas the GD full length too. I mean if you care to hear this sort of shit. Most people are going to be paying for this, that is until Indonesians/Russians load it to the torrents.

If anything, check out the hidden track. Some kind of industrial slam experiment I felt like doing at the last minute, after listening to a lot of Frontline Assembly!

The recording started late 2013 but went stagnant due to band strangeness, which culminated in me leaving. In 2014 the band repaired itself and I rejoined. They got the label interested but they asked for more tracks to make it a full length, so the last two are new for 2015. Because the guitars are all VST it was easy to duplicate the toan, and I used samples of the Roland TD30 snare and kick to get the same general drum sound. But those songs have a different drummer, and the last one is played and written by the new-other guitarist. We redid all the 2013 bass with the new bass player.

I feel like it gets stronger near the back half. I like what is happening in tracks 6+7 especially, seems more varied and interesting to me, and i like the more frequent use of a more standard death metal sort of growl over the throat thing(i don't love that as a vocal sound for metal) that is over most of everything else.

The last/bonus track is fucking awesome though. Distorted robot voice is difficult to fault. Overall result is very late nineties industrial metal, for sure.

What are you using on the vocal there? It is very good and works well with the other sounds.

I ran an SM58 into a Digitech Hot Head distortion pedal, into my interface. From there I used ReaPitch to add high and low layers, and panned the layers all about. Then I cloned those tracks with a tiny delay and tiny pitch shift and mirrored the pan of all the layers, for big stereo action.

I actually prefer the first tracks. Mostly as a matter of drum sounds and guitar tones... the guitar sounds more mid-chunky there (probably because it was before I removed the tone circuit) and the actual output of the Roland drum brain sounds better than replacing drums with samples from it, as was the case with the last two songs.

Thanks for listening Chris. :huzzah: I understand this kind of stuff isn't something you'd normally do.

Interestingly, I was on Reddit today and in r/ImaginaryStarscapes there was some art called 'Gravitational Distortion'... it was indeed, the cover art for our album. Totally out of the ether. That really made my night.
