This was one of those "a song for you to mix" deals on the Sneap forums. Feared is dude's band name, dude's moniker is Goddamn Guitar. He's posted 4 songs up to mix, I already mixed 3 of 'em, and this is #4.

The guitars were already 5150III, I didn't buy one or anything. They sound way too much like my 6505 for me to have a need for one.

I'll be updating this one tonight when I spend a little more time on it. There's a few things about it I don't like, and some things that sound okay that I'm not terribly cool with. There's also a touch of clipping on the guits which I need to fix-er-ate. I also need to give the toms some serious work. They sound like shit.

I spent a total of about an hour on this this morning.

Pretty cool... Maybe a little too much midrange honk from the guitars for my taste. Also the drums are throbbing a little from the compression?

Yep, and yep. I kind of wanted the drums to pump a bit for this one though. It gives the 2nd riff part of the song a cool accent on the splash on the left. But I'm going to automate the compression down for everything else and crank it up for that part.

The guitars are a WIP, these are basically the raw preamp out signal he posted up with s-preshigh and guitarhack's Inch Off Edge -1 on them. I'm going to be using a bit of EQ and C4 to tame said honk and try to bring a bit more low mids from them. Might even run them through the 6505's poweramp and mic up the Genz Benz, I don't know for sure yet.

The clean guitars were Twin Reverb + FX on the left side, and JSX clean channel on the right.

Bump. Redid this one out of pure boredom. It's much better.

Man, this sounds excellent.
That guitar tone is killer.

Thanks. It was the tone that was packaged with all the other files, but I modified the living fuck out of it.

The tone by itself is thin and shronky as fuck.

For certain kinds of metal I like a little skronk, but definitely not in this context.

I realize today that the left guitar is way louder than the right

And it's fixed.

Updated again. Added Ozone4 for louderizing, and compressed the shit out of the upper mids on the master bus. I think it sounds about 80% better now.

Bahahahahaha.
That's the OD-20?

I thought it was a standard overdriv pedal.
