I redid my drumjam from last year (the one where we were only allowed to use cheap rigs to record) with the Unicorn Turd into my Marshall MG. Rhythm guitars are quad tracked, two SM57 and two the direct out of the MG... The clean is a Boss compressor direct into my interface.

Oh and the rhythm guitar is a Fender strat with a SD JB... lead guitar is my seven string with the SD Distortion set.

I tried pretty hard to get a typical Geoff-type Marshall sounding tone out of it but it still has that burly hunky dunky pedal sound. Oh but the leads are so thick and fecal sounding!

Also I managed to include the 'moo' oscillating sound. Word! :unstrung:

Sounds like the theme song to an eighties action television show. :huzzah:

Rhythm sound is iffy, but the lead sound really does have a cool thickness to it. It is like some sort of supersmooth bigmuff squared.

Pretty swell, i'd say. :isay:

Would use a little less gain on the rhythm guitars, but it's sounding good.

That lead tone is definitely nice and fat.

That sounds pretty good. I like me a fuzzed out muffly tone every once in a while.

Indeed... would if I could. :poop: The pedal is either distorted or very distorted.

I have half a mind to record a nice rhythm guitar with my Splawn and just enjoy the lead tones. And the clean...

The eighties action show... yes, this is what you said when I originally recorded the jam last year. :huzzah:

The show would probably be about me breeding unicorns.

I have sigs turned off so I completely forgot about that.

If memory serves I just copy pasta'd "Better than your average hipster" or something like that from Google Translate: Hebrew.

Oh hey guise...

I redid the rhythm guitars with my Splawn now. Still the same link at the top there. No pedals, just straight in. Two tracks of the Emi Man O War and two of the Emi Governor. Guitar has a JB, and I think it really shows in the tone. It's like JB overload. I'm cool with that. :unstrung:

It sounds even more bangin'.

Also, I suck at guitar.

Edit: I am really fucking digging that lead tone. REALLY fucking digging it. It is really similar to my lead tone in that it has that "almost gated fuzz tone" thickness to it, but way more aggressive/tight sounding.

I might have to look into this pedal ...

It is a super fun tone. Once I got to recording the little lead fragment at 0:15, and I wiggled the whammy bar, I loled at the pure sirop that was coming out of my speaker.

If you do order from them, I hope you have a better experience with them than I did. Despite all that, I have this nagging need to order more of their shit. Namely... the Dumble pedal...

Are you in need of Dumble cleanz?

I am in need of nothing.

I just like to collect dirt pedals. :D

Ah, I was wondering if it would be for straight into the board cleans.
Apparently not.

Quote:
Here is a little snip of a song I worked out. It is a whimsical rocker, that I feel evokes visions of my dream career: To be a unicorn breeder.

I have attached various amusing unicorn related pictures but instead you could perhaps close your eyes and imagine what I'd like to be the music video (if I had the ability to make such a video)... which would basically be footage of me and my unicorns. Under rainbows and on lush green grass. Accompanied by adorable talking forest creatures. I would play match maker with my studs and mares to breed the most majestic creature... sometimes helping to mate them by hand, if need be. I am rambling needlessly.

The lead tones are a distortion pedal I built from a kit recently, the OL Circuits 'Slow Century'. It doesn't sound as advertised IMO but it is a very cool tone. Pics of said pedal are in the video. Aside from all the fastastic mythical beast business, I guess you could call this a demo of the pedal.

PS: The 'moo' sound is an oscillation the pedal makes when I crank the gain knob. I suppose this is what unicorns sound like.

PPS: Rhythm guitar is Splawn Quick Rod.
