I seem to have ran into something of a bout of writer's block in the area of DM lyrics.. I normally make a strong point out of avoiding the simplistic "I AM KILLING YOU" approach and try to find something conceptual with a narrative to spin a gruesome tale around but shit's got me fucking stumped hard. I am working on a piece based around the alleged countless murders of children committed by Gilles De Rais in the 15th century in tribute to a demon known as "Baron" in order to regain his lost fortune and fame. To me it's a pretty solid, if not fucking righteous, narrative to write a metal song around but this shit has got me stumped in terms of fluidity and non-repititious description.. Any ideas on breaking the block, my niggas? |
