pixel art is a bitch. I started with a base that I am going to design characters on. The base is heavily inspired by Earthbound, mainly because the controls and graphics are going to be executed similarly, its not a ton of pixels (16x24) and I like it so fuck you. Though, I am thinking of axing the full portrait left and right view sprites and instead just using the down-left and down-right sprites for full horizontal movement. So, if the player had just been moving up or up-left/up-right, then went left or right, the game would display the down-left or down-right sprites respectively. Same thing if they moved from the down directions to left or right. This would cut down on the amount of work per character I would have to do, and like I said, pixel art is a bitch.

Changed up some things, went with a slightly darker and less saturated palette (for the most part, still a work in progress. Note the 2x and 4x versions have some color glitching going on because I just lazy zoomed them.

Pretty doap dude. Definitely better in the darker version.

I don't know why, but at the moment i find the asscheeks inclusion on the b/w sprite to be hilarious.
