That's the working title anyway :red: Inspired by the following comic, I western-ified the first little part of the Jurassic Park theme and based the track off that. The rest of the track isn't really very spaghetti western though, more of a riffy rock thing. It starts a bit slow and I need help with certain things including a proper bass/vocals/good lead playing/better bells and general westerny sounds (whistling? :red: ) etc. Here it is so far, thoughts, comments etc? :idk:

Aye, this is very well put together. I love the sleepy clean tremolo intro bit! :huzzah:

I've been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption lately and approve of this.

Excellent :isay:

Ideally the intro would be redone by someone with a telecaster, proper trem pedal and nice amp, I'm just using my bridge-p90d les paul into amplitube 3. Quite pleased with the distorted toane though considering my amp was pretty quiet.

The distorted toanes are totally cawk rawkin'.

I enjoy them. The riffage is pretty awesome as well.

I think it may be better than usual because this time I used some DT100s I'm borrowing to track with, so I'm getting no overspill from loud monitors.

I'm quite pleased this track has got me inspired to write some music again, amazing what some dinosaurs on the internet can do

Yeah I did the lead, I don't like it though and it's not really shredding :red: That bell you sent sounds good :nods:

That is pretty damn cool. When the dirtguitar kicks in through the uptempo bit is very AIC. :nods:

I seem to remember you saying one of my other tracks was "very AIC" as well, which is odd as I never listen to them and each time I've tried I can't get into it

I don't recall off the top of my head, but you're probably right. It's the Sabbath/Zep riffery with a modern high gain tone with plenty of mids, I think. I'm specifically referencing the slow sludgy bit here.

Facelift and Dirt are glorious records. :red:

Post subject:  Re: Moar Banthammer - Bombastic Jurassic

Yeah I just listened to some AIC and the bit where it gets riffy sounds a bit like the chorussy guitar in Angry Chair :red:

Need to motivate myself to finish this song, its kinda gone off the boil - all I need is a chorus riff and some kind of solo breakdown riff.

edit - so the chorus riff I thought would fit really doesn't at all, looks like inspiration has already dried up

Ok I've added a chorus and another lot of verses etc, just uploading to dropbox now so the link should remain the same when it's ready (says 14 minutes to go) :idk:

Needs a dutty riff to solo over now.

I really like the riff at the beginning of the faster bits.

Oh and this bridgey breakdown part sounds pretty fucking swell.
