Definitely. A Tele tuned low makes for one fine djent machine. Especially with a maple fretboard. I don't know why the djenters aren't doing it.

I've thought this for a long time. Fuck the hum, it means it's on. Also, these people gate the shit out of everything anyway. The lack of low end is actually a plus in that context.

This is my Strat tuned to C# through an SD-1 and a Mesa Stiletto: http://www.mp3lizard.com/download.cfm?id=26237 Totally a rough recording done as proof-of-concept and sounds it, but the tone is there.

Yeah, that sounds pretty nice. The way the strings pop off the fretboard on any maple fretboard'ed guitar is perfect for teh djentz.

So i did eventually go back in and play with it some more. And now it is kind of broken.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_so ... ID=9800162

Using a transient grabbed from the floortom, EQed, and pitch shifted with automation, for the 'bass'.

My brain hurts, possibly from listening to it too much, so i will have to fix the (very lousy) mix tomorrow.

And then decide what i want to do with it next. :red:

Oh, and again, because there is so much sub-bass in it, i have no idea what that will sound like without a subwoofer/huge bassy speaker setup. It sounds kind of evil here though.

As others have said, everyone here is a talented motha in their chosen fields of muisc/noisemaking.

Also thanks to whoever edited the OP for me :nods:

I have decided to do a 2nd, more laid back version. Recording a pretty shitty acoustic with an SM57 doesn't sound very good though :red:

thanks man, it's a suhr telecaster and snax fx, logic 8, and a fender jazz bass

What amp sim are you using?

Recto Orange with a Redwirez Mesa V30 IR, gain is set pretty low considering the guitar but it's triple tracked.

I've re-done mine with added acoustic, sg middle position toanez and a bit of ReaSynth  I prefer it to the first one I did, much more my style.

Snaxie, I'm listening to your final one now. It's fan-fucking-tastic

I bring the member:talent ratio down pretty awesomely.

I like to think I make it up with my extensive knowledge of mason jars.

Oh? Tell me about Mason jars.

Anyhow, i disagree with the first statement. None of the rest of us are hip enough to do what you do, how you do it.

Hipsterdom goes a long way, see. :isay:

That would have been me. :nods: I was spending a lot of time in the thread anyway, so I decided to use my Mod Powers™ for good rather than evil.

Also, the last point = true.

Recto Orange does a really convincing impersonation of a Dual Rec on Orange, gotta say. I have confirmed this in person as a friend has a :snax: -FX and a Dual. :nods: Orange/Vintage is also my favorite thing on the Rec by far. If I had the budget I'd own one just for that channel/mode. I can't be arsed with the rest, but that setting is  .

Okay done. More polymetric wanking, though a but more subtle this time. And as always, a harmonized lead near the end... some things I just can't help. :red: Splawn QR and 4x12, SM57 and i5, my seven string (coil tap for the less heavy chords). Bass was programmed... :red:
