Our beloved maps has been barely access for the past year or two.

Is it time to let it go?

It's not costing me a lot of money (about $8.00/month) but it does seems that it may be time to let it go.

Let me hear your thoughts.

I like you guys and i would like to hear from you every now and then. I like hearing what you dudes are recording, where you are playing, all that biz. If not for this place then i don't know how.

It would be nice to have enough traffic for there to be a little more going on from day to day, but we are kind of weirdos so i guess that is difficult. :red:

I don't know what the answer is.

I would however gladly give to the cause of keeping the domain/space/etc, though i realize that you are saying that such a thing isn't what you are aiming for. It still adds up to a hundred bucks a year, and there is no reason for you to be the only one of the few of us that drop by here still, to pay it.

yes and that is why I just keep it. I still like hearing from the guys here and our classic thread I really enjoy going back through them.

There no rush to shut her down and I and still a ways off from saying its time to go. Just want to see where you guys are about the idea.

It has slowed down to a crawl.. TBH, most of the sorts of activity here could be contained in a facebook group, which some of it at this point has.

However, it is a place that I really enjoy and would/will gladly throw dollars your way to keep it afloat. This place has turned me onto a lot of good shit that is a part of my everyday life and that is cool, and would be happy have it around as long as you'd be willing to host the domain.

Reallyreally: Whatever you wanna do is good with me, Joey. Also we gotta figure out a way to throw you dollars regardless.

Honestly I could probably host it on my company's server. I highly doubt the bandwidth is going to have an inpact on any of our stuff.

Tor, if you are going to shut it, what would the timeframe be?

I would likely care to archive a couple of my favorite threads and whatnot before they evaporate.

I mean I have a server with more space and bandwidth than we need right now. I could totally host a forum. The domain is the real bitch to be honest but I wouldn't be surprised if my or my colleague have a spare one to throw around.

There is also free chat solutions like discord and slack and such, for the facebook averse of us (to be fair I barely am on there anymore these days as well.)

Lemme know if you guys want me to set something up. Tor, is there any way to export the forum history is some sort of a digestable format? I can probably do something with it for those who want it.

Server space isn't a problem, it's really just having a database and moving it which would be a cunt. I'm not looking forward to closing up shop for a while at least 6 months to a year. The domain cost is silly cheap and monthly it's really like $9 to host it where it's at and its been stable with backups etc.

If I feel more of a money pinch maybe we do so each member pays one month a year? Maybe on their birthday? tell me what you guys think.
