Aerodrums.

Uses optical sensors instead of pads for e-drumming porpoises. :hypno:

I kinda want one of these. :idk:

I spy a PSEye camera. I wonder if it has the same OTT hardware demands as other motion sensor HID input uses of said device in non-PS uses.

As a drummer, i dunno if i could get along with no stick impact. Nor do i suspect that i would get along with what appears to be an auto-generated snare flam when the two sticks are sensed to be in the same location.
(EDIT: Just watched the snare video that addressed these. Interesting. I still don't know if it would work for me, but it is fucking cool for sure.)

Very interesting idea. :huzzah:

I was thinking about the no impact thing- it's weird for sure, but at the same time, so's the response of most e-kits. It doesn't feel like hitting a drum. And hell, the hat response seems pretty decent. I'd be concerned about one-hand rolls and ghost notes on the snare, but those are do-able I suppose. The FAQ says it supports double kick as well. I suppose it does fill a niche though, and it's one I think I could take advantage of. I don't really have the room for a kit (well, there's the basement, but I'm not leaving gear down in that clusterfuck; I don't think the floor will ever be clean.) and I tend to work late at night.

Seems a neat toy but at least for a drummer like me, who is highly physical in what he do, it'd never be anything more than that...

Need my shit to be hitting the drum head. :hitler:
