Wow, this guys kills it. If only I could play like that.  I tried stripping kit down to one tom like that. I got mindfucked.

I could pretty much be happy with just kick, snare, floor tom, hi-hat and crash. But I suck at drums. |

That would kill me. Not having the ride and no high toms..?  My drumming is so fucking ADHD, I would go insane with that few of options. I mean, I've heard it played to a great effect, makes the drummer rely on groove and feel, but I could never do that. I would go insane. |

I am still really enjoying the four-piece layout experiment that i have been doing for the last few months. Occasionally, i still go for the missing middle tom, but not too often any more. Now that my arms are used to the layout, fills have gotten considerably easier on the setup than they were at first, as well.  I was actually considering dropping one of my crashes from the roster as well. The next time i am in a position to buy some cymbals, i will probably just do hi-hats, one crash, ride. |

Yeah, but with the I drum that other floor tom would be useless. My set-up is weird.. I'll try to take pics when I get home. |
