Covenant's production is really something. Spacious, natural drums. Guitars might be a bit too smooth though. You can tell it was recorded in a nice studio by someone who was not generally involved with death metal...
Domination sounds congested and murky in comparison. Covenant sounds really nice, especially considering what it is and when it was recorded. Didn't that sell some stupid amount for a DM record, too?
I think the smoothness of the guitars works, even if only 'cause it's Trey's tone, which is... well, pretty dark and smooth to begin with, even live. Not what one would immediately assume thinking "900 and a distortion pedal".

Okay, so you were right, Chris.. Heart Of The Sunrise is one of the best Yes songs. That "I feel lost in the city" Jon Anderson haunting moment of melodic perfection gives me goose bumps every time.

Roundabout is clearly the best Yes song, that's a bassline you can't argue with.
Re: What Are U Listening To Right Now: Home Surgery Instruct
Roundabout is great, but it's not even in the same ballpark as Close To The Edge, And You And I, Heart Of The Sunrise or Long Distance Runaround. I have no idea how they managed to make such unique, well-crafted music at such a young age. It's crazy.

From what I've read, they were more boozers then druggies.

I'm genuinely surprised by that
Listening to Russian Circles - Geneva now. Still undecided on this album, I think it may be a bit too ambient and none of the tracks have the raw rock awesomeness of Youngblood. Great production though.

A. That's my line. Quit it.
B. Geneva is fantastic. Shut the fuck up.

The bit where the bass is just pumping one note in the title track is so dirty.

I would have been curious to hear Yes release an entire album of material like this.. I like them sound of them attacking classic pop song composition (verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus) and still going all fucking out musically like only Yes can.

Holy shit, singing Long Distance Runaround a fuckload of times is almost convincing me that I have a good voice.. I try it once after the song is over A Capella.. STILL SOUNDS GOOD, NIGGA.

My buddy's band, 7 Horns 7 Eyes, had Jeff Loomis do a solo on their debut album coming out from Century Media. I guess their guitarist knows him or some shit.
