Mine as well, and I've owned a few. It's ugly. But yeah, it least it isn't tribal inlays.

I don't mind the ESP flag inlays- or the abalone, or carved figured tops (I like some gaudy shit sometimes, and I'll admit that)- though if I had to pick I'd go with no inlays at all, which actually looks pretty classy IMO.

Nice necks on the ESPs. The profile varies from series to series, though, and the most typically shredly-looking should have necks to match.

I dig those two older charvels(model 2 and TX). I am into the Kramer too. I don't think i have ever played one of those.

Oh, is that kahler on the model 2? How do you feel about kahlers?

Also, if you cant tell, I really want an HS or HSS guitar. And that Kramer is one of a few guits I can find with a decent hardtail HSS setup.

EDIT: Also it seems to have better parts in general. Mahogany body, maple neck and top and string-through-body bridge.

It is worth noting, that with any trem setup, you can always block or tremol-no that shit for when you want to get weird with tunings. It doesn't exactly sound the same as a fixed bridge, but for most intents and porpoises, it can provide kind of a best of both worlds situation for a shred-guit.

I get your desire for neck and/or middle pickups, though personally, i am agin them in shredders.

The old charvels and jacksons are generally going to be nicer guitars, especially if you go for one of the ones they made in Japan or if you get lucky and a USA one drops into your range.

Evidently AMS is selling that Striker 211 for $100 cheaper than MF.


At $300 I was kind of shaky, as that is used Charvel/Jackson/Kramer range. But at $200 that is not a bad piece of guitar.

Eh, i am not really into mahogany for a shredguit. Also it is at least worth noting, that we are talking "2012 Mahogany" here. Meaning, it could be a lot of different dark woods that pass for it today.

In general, a Japanese or USA guitar from the 80s to early90s is going to be a much nicer guitar than a modern Korean, as solid and decent as modern Korean guitars are.

Yeah, i dunno about the TX. The only thing i could find with that model name was actually a tele-shaped thing they did in the 90s.

If it is actually a USA guitar, that would be verynice.
