I've been rolling that way for a while, save for the stuff that pans across the stereo field, of course. It works. Sounds open and clear. Drum OHs and room pairs and other stereothings position themselves in what in-betweens there are on their own. I find it to be a solid way of getting things right pretty quick. If I had a lot of toms to deal with I suppose I'd deviate from that, and I've definitely spent some time with stereo widening plugins on things like reverbs, room mics and synths. Pretty much everything I've done for a couple years now has been strict Catholic L/C/R though, with very few exceptions, and it works, with everything going all at once.

Because, lets be realistic, to paraphrase my dad, unless life will also be handing us a metric fucklot of sugar, that lemonade was going to suck anyhow.
