Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
^ that's amazing.
Also, I ate some pretty bad seafood for dinner tonight. 2 dozen mussels and 1 dozen clams. 4 hours later I was speeding home, had enough time to run upstairs and slide to the toilet and puke my guts up. Something tasted off about the mussels, most likely they've been frozen for too long. Fuck.

I've never had bad food like that. Either I'm very fortunate or I have a mighty stomach.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Yeah, I can't say I've had vomiting-horrible either. I've had regrettable things, but all in the opposite direction. So, my former haunt, place my band used to play a lot, weird people quasi-goth old horror movie themed bar has shut its doors. I just got home from the last night. I am sad to see it go. An acquaintance of mine- a musicsceneperson- swear to [insert deity of your choice here] has me confused for someone else. While I'm flattered by the compliments about my singing- he at least has seen Garda- I never tried out for his band, certainly not any time in the past decade, and I've never said anything personally about him- because I barely know the guy, and am totally cool with all his bandmates? And I am 100% positive my parents never drove me to an audition and I am in fact in my 30s. Funny, his old guitarist (whom I've gigged with many times over the years and I was confused for his old bassist a bunch; there is a resemblance) thought I hated him for a long-ass time. I was always totally cool with the guy. Mistaken identity a bit? I swear I am not That Guy, whomever he is. Oh, and I can officially say I'm opening for Voltaire (because we have instruments that are not synthesizers ) now. Should be a cool show.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Which one? Because opening for Undead Philosopher Voltaire, would be a pretty sweet ass gig. The other dood would be good too, you could wear your finest frock coat. Actually, as i think of it, for either one, a fine frock coat would be a good choice. Whether you would wear your finest for playing with the Undead Philosopher, would likely depend on whether or not he would be rampaging, as the Undead are prone, or what? Which brings to my mind, what does an Undead Philospoher Voltaire show generally consist of anyhow?

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I found the drum jam I came up with part of my "new" riffage from. Can anyone work out the time signature of the first bit? Or is it just something normal and I'm being a tard and programming it wrong? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15027660/Soundc ... rumjam.mp3

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
One of the timenerds will probably be able to say. I never count anything, so everything just sounds either "crazy", or "probably 4/4" to me. Like, what you have there sounds 4/4 to me just with some snare hits moved. But probably, moving the snare hits makes it some other time, technically.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
4/4 It's doing that thing where the riff starts on the 'four AND' of the previous bar. That's probably what makes it deceptive.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Alright thanks. I'll have to further rearrange my beats then. Anything slightly complicated time-wise confuses the fuck out of me.

Yar if it's not 4/4 or 3/4 I basically can't play it.

The not-so-deceased one. Which is still a pretty okay gig, methinks. An Undead Philosopher Voltaire show... Would hopefully include rampaging? And wry witticisms, which may or may not involve the flesh, blood and delicious brains of the audience.

It is settled then, after you play your gig with the living Voltaire, we shall raise the Dead one, and have a second rockshow!

That might prove difficult, but by the power of Tesla and Science! I figure we could devise some sort of re-animation ray in the interim. In the immortal words of Newt Gingrich, we need four porpoises and a wet Nigerian- that would be a badass mission.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
My sister recently asked me point blank, and seriously, if i was making a bomb.
I am reminded of this, mainly because 1. It is hilarious, and 2. Because i was just using the small microphone that she suspected to be explosive.

As a matter of personal safety, I always assume unidentified pieces of electronics are bombs.

As a matter of personal paranoia, i always assume they are listening/transmitting devices. Or alien tracking beacons. Or mind control machinery.
