I love Maiden, but could unnerstan' why some folks (a la Mr D) would hate them.

This forum we either have Disintegration lovers or haters. I was rocking this on the way in to work yesterday, and had to listen again during lunch, but not everyone's taste.

How 'bout Melon Collie?

or Core from STP?

I have to disagree with RATM, the vocalist makes me want to put an icepick in my eye.

I dislike Iron Maiden as well. Actually I like their self titled, so so much better without Bruce Dickinson.

I have never heard it, and if you link me some I probably won't bother to listen to it. And if I do I probably won't be in any mood to derive any enjoyment from it. Neither a lover or hater, it simply isn't on my radar.

I would support the addition of Gish or Siamese Dream, but i always found Mellon Collie... to be a very long downer of a record for a party. And there were several parties at that time through which this perception was supported for me. There is too much slow to it, IMO.

While i love Disintegration, i probably wouldn't spin it at a party. Unless it was like, a suicide party, then it would pretty much be that, First and Last and Always, and probably something from Joy Division... :red:

Back on the subject of a non-suicide party i might spin Violator. It has a momentum and a pulse to it.

Which reminds me in a roundabout way: i would totally play some Anaal Nathrakh at this party.

Just enough to incite the "what the fuck?"s from those who will hate it. :dukes:

Mellon Collie is a pretty good idea, but like Chris said it's too slow in parts and kinda boring, IMO in others.

Nooooow, if we were to whittle the double album down to a singular album with songs of our choice that would probably be our winner no doubt, but I think that's cheating.
:red:

What about early Metallica? Puppets, maybe? I wouldn't protest. Things would get very quiet during the middle section of Orion, then about 30 seconds later everyone would be going "BEE WEE WOOOOOOO, BEE WEE WOO WOO WOO WOP WOP WOOOOOOOOO."
