I have smoked an ungodly amount of weed nearly everyday for the past three weeks.

I can't say I have, actually. And that's the thing, I think it's context. Me all speeded-out in the past just played my instruments and played my instruments and playedmyfuckinginstruments until I crashed. I wouldn't want to be around someone who's bouncing off the walls and has no choice but to do fuckall. That sounds like horrible times. Stimulants = clubbing, period, fullstop. Or, I confess, drunk jamming @ 4 AM after aforementioned.

My god, I hate having too much coffee or Mt. Dew and sitting in my office without work. I wind up pacing back and forth and cleaning everything and organizing things or I will explode. I could only guess how bad that would be on coke or amphetamines!

Seeing as I'm never stoned, that would explain why it's not a whole lot of fun; even if I'm drunk I mostly find stoned people frustrating.

See, for me marijuana serves a much different purpose than it does for the general stoner population.
They enjoy it purely because it makes things funnier, makes food taste better, so and so forth.

When I get super high, I freak the fuck out mentally and begin thought processes my sober mind would never explore, concepts about life and death and of the ignorance of humans.
I realized that I can't be friends with Kyla (Batporn Girl) and allow her to drag me around the dirt when she does not and will not want me again.
The behavior she is displaying epitomizes everything that I hate about human beings, so rather than playing the victim like I always do I am cutting the ties and telling her I can't be friends anymore.
I would have never done that in the past.


THC does so much more than just make me giggly and hungry.
Though that may be more of a direct result of my brain than the drug itself, as I am quite frankly much more intelligent than your typical dopesmoker.

+1 to your poast. I have no inherent issue with any drug; they all affect different people differently.

Re: people who are coked-up with nowhere to go- I'll amend that statement. My lady-posse is made up of notorious pre-gamers. Five people in a car who've spent the past hour (save for our driveress, who had one glass of wine) getting bent beforehand, and the DD-on-the-way-back who got moretrashed going to a club an hour and a half away in the next city over, and everyone telling stories and cracking jokes constantly. Said driveress proceeded to get Mad Wasted on Three Olives Grape and soda rather quickly while the person who drove on the way back drank water and soda (the non-club soda-mixer kind) until 4 AM. Context is everything, and this goes for a lot more than polluting one's self.

Frankly, as a currently sober person- I'm not going out this weekend at all- I have no particular interest in being around wasted people. They will annoy me. Intoxicated people and sober people don't mix well. And people getting a mellow buzz on and people who are bouncing off the goddamn walls don't get on at all well in any way.

Back to the first subject: when I've been drinking, my mind- already a bit, er, off from most people's- goes places it would not normally. I am generally, unless I've been foolish and had too much, quite a lucid drunk. I understand the perspective of the external world disappearing into the internal. It's also been my experience that that sort of perspective change is tied in with the artistic personality. I certainly know some sorry souls who are around the periphery of the art and music scenes who consume a lot of stuff and... They are casualties. I also know people who are frequent consumers of intoxicants who are absolutely functional and lucid and make wonderful art and are smart, pleasant company. They are the exception to the rule, but they exist. Extreme personalities can often get away with extreme things. They're just how they are and through sheer force of self they get by unharmed somehow. And this is not an endorsement of the rock-and-roll/artist myth of "drugs make you more creative", because that is absolutely not true. God knows how many band practices I've sat through with stoned people being incredibly frustrated with their pointless wank! But I will say that some people who are already... off... to begin with seem to handle things differently, and have a better handle on things, and it does not necessarily affect them to their detriment- what's in their mind already is more their detriment, and frankly altering their mental state sometimes is probably a good thing (see: self-medication, psych meds) and it doesn't seem to make them that far off from themselves than people who are, well, more normal. In short, I think crazy people handle getting fucked up better. Unless it makes them completely out of control, in which case they should stop, immediately.

Which also brings me to another point: people who have exceeded their limit- I don't care of what- are always annoying. Having plenty of times been drunk around people who Really Should Just Go Home Now, this is a True Fact.

But I digress.

Also, one of the best things I've listened to whilst out of my gourd, on headphones: Dmitri Shostakovich, 5th Symphony. Atlanta Symphony, Yoel Levi conducting. 'S the recording on Telarc (my god, the Telarc and Deutsch Grammophon discs sound so goddamn good. I'd love to hear a rock band recorded like that... maybe.) and is glorious.
