I think it is less about the cushion, and more about the support. Running in flat shoes makes your feet get all fucked up, and it transmits straight into the muscles and tendons in your feet, ankles, knees, and legs, straining them in weird ways. It should be less pronounced on soft surfaces like grass, but even folks who run long distances on dirt/grass generally go for proper shoes designed for it.

I admit to being somewhat anti-running from the getgo anyhow. I mean, i will probably need to do some running in the endtimes/zombieapocalypse, but that will be a different story. :red:

Fuck cardio. The closest I do is bike machine or walking. :mexican: Srsly hate running on a treadmill and Brooklyn is too crowded to go running around sidewalks and streets.

I see Chris. I'll keep it in mind. Tbh I don't know if I enjoyed it enough to keep it up, and I'm bad at sticking to exercise I don't enjoy. But it felt like a much better workout than 20 minutes on my bike and I feel like I've plateau'd again, so :idk:

edit - knee and hip don't feel like complete death today so I think that's a win  Just kind of feel like I did when I first started doing squats. Probably need to stretch moar after running.

I can't run. It fucks up my knees. Then again, proper feet coverererers would probably help. I stick to kickboxing, jiu-jitsu. time goes real fast with that workout.

I'll be in Boston in the beginning of May! Anything I must do while I'm there? I want to go to a Red Sox game, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to.

w00t! A bunch more Garda shows coming up, finally. We haven't played out since January. But we have four coming up in June/July, including out-of-town (albeit only Rochester, but still...) we're back in the big studio around that time as well for the next record- I'll probably have all my parts done long before

Good times = had by all. Hopefully.

So I decided to register with endomondo and installed it on my phone so I can track my cycling jaunts a bit better. All good, tracks your route and all sorts of cool shit. Anyway a guy I work with added me and he goes on some insane rides. Like 165km in 8 hours which burns off something like 7000 kcals! Fucking nuts man. Not what most people do on a monday morning.

I used to do 16 km to work everyday and back, and that was a little tough at first. it wasn't so bad after a while, but I would die at anything near that much.

Let me know when you're in Rochester, I have family there and we need to take a trip up there. Would be a great time to catch you.

With how shittacular they've been this season you may want to skip the Sox if you have any attachment to the team itself. Although Fenway Park is quite the thing to experience.

I've done about 50 miles on my road bike in one go once and I didn't really enjoy it. Anything over 25 and I get too bored and uncomfortable. This probably means I'll never be a proper roadie :red:

I haz some proper running shoes now and my legs feel a bit better, so I'mma do day 2 of C25K tomorrow or Saturday

Well, I think its against the Orioles, so it should be a tight game between two shitty team... It really is more about Fenway then anything else. The only ballparks I have been to in the states is the Ballpark in Arlington(when it was called that) and Shea Stadium(while it existed) and that was a while back. I wouldn't mind catching a Celtics game at the Garden, but playoff tickets would be though the roof.

Got a gameboy emulator on my phone and I'm fucking addicted to Zelda: Links Awakening again. Such an awesome game. I think after this I'll be forced to get an N64 emulator to play through Ocarina of Time :D
