My wife and I make all of our wine purchases based on label design.

On a related note, I've wanted to pick up a bottle of this just because the bottle is awesome:

But it is far too damn expensive, given my current lack of cash.

Nothing wrong with that as decision-making factor. The Miller is close to properly old-fashioned looking; at least, the type is. And it's a better looking can than, say, Coors, to say nothing of Bud. And certainly better visually than any "light"/"lite" beer.

I like the '50s-ish blocky sans serif type on the first one, though. The giant red LAGER is a nice touch. Also "made on honor/sold on merit" is a fine slogan.

That is what i am saying. Narragansett just strikes me as a proper-looking sort of cheapbeer. Cheapbeer shouldn't look like fucking lasers and technology and shit(or alternately, whatever the fuck clustermess the Bud cans are).

It should look like gas stations where they check your oil, and proper old school welding masks and rivet guns.

Frankly, it should look a little bit, like cranky old men.

That is what my sister(the wine drinker between us) does also. It is actually not a terrible method for choosing wine, from what she was saying. 1. Find cool label. 2. Check price. Anything that passes both tests is like 90% likely to do the trick.

Pretty much. I don't associate beer with anything shiny and modern. Ugly beer can designs look dated from their inception.

Beer and liquor in general looks best if it looks like it was manufactured pre-WWII.

On the plus side, one of the most beautiful- and intelligent (intelligence is sexy; people I can have a conversation with are hot)- people that I know decided to follow me home last night. :tu: On the minus side, I have come to the conclusion Satan is real and he occupies himself attempting to remove the frontal portion of human skulls with a rusty bandsaw and a sharpened screwdriver. Also, I think I am still drunk, and it's five in the afternoon. :snax: :red:

Quick question, can anyone think of anything currently in their houses, that is grosser than the grease sludge shit clinging to the inside of the ductwork attached to one's kitchen fans?

Seriously, if it was car parts the whole fucking wall would be immersed in Brake-Kleen(noble destroyer of all, it) right now. As my current mindset has me inexplicably not caring to have said Brake-Kleen dripping down at some later date into the foodmaking arena, i am leaning towards a general nuking-from-space angle, and/or, even though it is at odds with my greatdepressionesque desire in all things to fix not replace, the acquisition simply of a new unit, unencumbered thus with the horrors of the grease beasts'... leavings.

Shit is fucking nazzzzzty.

What type of computer/motherboard? Did it have a standalone video card before? If so, was it the same type of slot? It is possible that the new card is causing a device resources conflict. :idk:

But, if there was a card before(as opposed to onboard) and if it is the same type of card and use(e.g. PCIe, one slot), then more likely to be some ting else.

Have you looked in your hardware Device Manager to see if it is showing any yellow exclamation points? If not, have you tried re-installing the drivers for the non-working devices?

It's an Abit IP35 Pro motherboard and the graphics card is still a PCIe. Only thing I thought it might be was that the psu is too weak for the new graphics card, but I put my old one back in and my stuff still doesn't work. Can't find any drivers for my cd drive, windows auto update says its all fine. Nothing wrong in device manager either.

Do gremlins do much coding these days? I was under the impression that their skills tended to reside more within the realm of mechanical devices.

Of course, in the modern era, at least until the return-to-roots endtimes, it would likely behoove them to expand their expertise into the digital realm...

So i would suppose it could be possible.

Just easier for demons i think. All supernatural and shit. Demonic possession.

Easiest way to see would be to go for a proper excorcism. If it is gremlins it won't do shit. If demons, then blood on the walls and high winds, general cataclysmic sorts of shit, hard to miss. At the very least, one would know they were on the right track in such pursuits, that sort of thing.

That sounds eminently reasonable. After all, nothing exceeds like excess. Plus, like, then you'd know.

Let's get some green lasers and throw a wrench in the works. Or purple.

Wouldn't purple lasers just be red and blue lasers, mixed?

On the GI Joe-based fault analysis angle, Tom, i offer this:

Or rather, in lieu of stopping all the downloading, you might try giving the computer a body massage?
