He has been on a bit of a roll lately.

I should invest in young Cameron.

Mostly, it is just that I am buying things.

And my fuck, NAILS were absolutely crushing. They got another guitarist for touring, shit was so heavy, no doubt the second guitar was a part of that, and the HM-2s maybe a little bit.. And Converge were mindblowingly tight. Kurt Ballou is seriously such an underrated guitarist, dude shreds. And seeing what he is physically playing in front of me made it even more baffling. Epic tones, (obviously) killer rhythm section.

Kurt plays in some fucked up tunings IIRC. I never really sat down to figure them out, as the only ones i ever tried to play were from the petitioning the empty sky era, and whether or not he used it, i figured out ways to do them in standard or standard-dropped sorts of tuning. Just by sound, it sounds like he got into some odder tunings later though.

That said, more of the newer record sounds almost standard tuning (but low) style to me, just in the way riffs go together and stuff.

And by far, ben koller is the best drummer that band has had. I loved his band from before this, but he is even better in converge. That bass player was always a good time, too, his band Jesuit was not super awesome to hear compared to some other stuff from the time, but to see them live, they were pretty crazy.

Yeah, he actually made a joke about it. Someone yelled "Hot For Teacher!", and he busted out the main lick right before tuning for the next song. Talk was continued about playing it, but then he said something about, "Can't really play that tuned to this," then he wrung out all the open strings, was some kind of fucked up open minor chord.

Jammed the AC15 for a couple hours today, still need to record some clippage of that. Shit is sounding proper rock n' roll on power chord bullshittery. Also, met some younger kids who live close-ish with ties to a lot of hardcore bands. Some of it being the Entombedcore that has become quite a staple sound in young hardcore bands.

After feeling really shitty for about two weeks straight I'm starting to feel much better. I got to the point where at any moment I was alone and not doing something (especially while driving) I had really harsh negative thoughts about myself. I was kinda addicted to video games as that was the only thing that could keep my mind distracted enough to not think about that stuff. Even when I was around people, I was having to really concentrate on the conversations just to avoid being noticeably depressed.

I figure I need to start taking music more seriously and get back to "not out of shape." Maybe I just need to build something...

And yes Cam you need to make clips of your winningnness ASAP.

Oh and anyone else keeping track of Sandy? That bitch swelled up so big I had to drive through blinding rain today even though its 500+ miles away. Not much wind but I literally couldn't see the lines on the road.

Have a new CIO at my job (Chief Information Officer) seems like a nice decent guy, but he's handed me a few real big projects and my brain is fried.

I have also cut my long lady locks, more like a cross of Billie Joe and as one friend said...Joan Jett. FB'ers may have seen the cut I know one of you did ;)

And it works, seriously. Portions of mine need to disappear as well. I'm going for a more dramatic version of the asymmetrical thing I have now- longer in the front than in the back, and longer on one side than the other (and parted on the side as well). And probably a little shorter. A far cry from when it was, like, halfway down my back a couple years ago. The things we must do as we age; sigh. I feel like an old lady. (And I fully support old ladies who have lovely long hair well past when most of them have hair more suited to being addressed as "Sgt." than "Ms.") The 30something metalhead look is not suited to my vanity though. Having naturally wavy foofy hair I'd wind up mostly looking like a pirate anyhow.

Best/worst prank ever is to put a load of glitter on the top of ceiling fan blades.

Playing a cover set tonight, and on Halloween (Assuming Hurricane Sandy doesn't fuck that one up.) Yes, with Abnormality. Also playing a normal set in Brooklyn on Friday opening for Malignancy's CD release show. (Again, assuming Hurricane Sandy doesn't fuck that one up.)

Quite a price, but it was worth it because its guranteed working, and not counterfeit. This guy bought a huge lot of like 200, found like 70-some counterfeits, and has been selling the rest on freestompboxes and ebay. He posts videos on youtube of him testing them with an oscilloscope! I popped in for one for my aquapuss clone PCB - but i'm tempted to buy two more and build a deluxe memory man :D
