Did that the other day myself. I had a terrible sore throat to begin with, so I decided fuckit: drink whiskey, smoke cloves, see if that'll rock my voice up even more. I have not listened back to the tracks since to determine whether they sucked or not.

Oh, but to Back-To-Sleep. :(

Really Big Show later, but the whole thing's been a cluster:dildo: :panic: :eekass: . I've done big shows before, but this is the first with Garda. And specifically 'cause of who we are, not just "local festival, do your best to get on". Eight bands, "Best of Buffalo" thing. Ostensibly a club, but 1000+ capacity, that's a theatre. And all our next book'd shit is like that- go figure, we were going to forgo playing live, but we managed to score several shows at serious venues shortly thereafter. I am okay with this. My friends- especially those who never saw us- are downright shocked. (They don't know I actually lose money as a musician!) They've actually started to take me seriously now, what with the record and Convergence and the repeated awards and all.

We scored a show at the biggest non-arena venue in Buffalo. 'S a large theatre, everyone who isn't big enough (here; this is a classic rock and metal town) to play the sports stadiums but big enough to play things that aren't shithole bars plays there. Whether it's Skrillix, Santigold or Metric, or Iced Earth, Opeth, The Sisters, KMFDM. etc. I have a cousin who's a touring drummer who played there not too long ago.

So very cool you get a big theatre/crowd to. I've been lucky to have played to a few large crowds and it really IS all it is cracked up to be.

I really need an external HD. :red: My computer is getting pretty bogged down trying to keep up with almost 20 tracks, little guy has a hard time buffering.

This album is actually quite decent, eh? Reminds me a lot of Behemoth in the vocal and drum production, but they are doing some interesting things for sure. Which is always nice coming from a band that has been around for as long as they have.

Yeah, I am definitely digging what is going on here versus the last. Riffs are there, vocal production is fucking MASSIVE, and yeah nice realass drums.

Seriously though, Greenway sounds like a literal monster.

I don't know that the drums sound so real, but they do sound enormous.

Barney sounds like he has the microphone wedged somewhere in his solar plexus. Gloriously muffled and distorted.

I guess I maybe should have said.. "roomy" or something. They might not be real sounding, but they are trying to approximate something we all wished existed in nature, rather than something that is so obviously flat and fake.

They just melted your pedal paint.

It shouldn't have, as the paint types SHOULD be compatible, but it just melted right through, faster than dedicated paintstripper usually does.

Luckily i printed a couple copies of the top, because i am going to need to do it again. :red:

Show last night was as much of as cluster :dildo: as we expected. Well, less in some ways and more in some ways, so it works out. :red: :snax:

So, we get fuckall time to set up or soundcheck, and there's some burly fuckknuckle with a stopwatch at the side of the stage... Our main laptop crashes on startup and we're all "fuckit, turn it off, go to the backup", so we do. Now, this bit here is on me- I couldn't find my flash drive- so I had to reprogram the set. Took a whopping two minutes maybe, and was ready before soundcheck was done. Chris checked my guitar, all was good.

Now, the synths and drummer's samplers are submixed through the inyourface. We're getting levels on the meters. NO SOUND AT ALL. We're baffled. Turn the laptop off, disconnect the inyourface, ask for some extra DIs. NO GODDAMN SOUND AT ALL.

F'n kid at the monitaur board DIDN'T TURN THE PHANTOM ON FOR THE DIs. Lost three songs off our set, and by the time we realized it, no clicks, no backing whatnots. Played through it anyhow; our friends who know us realized things were gone, but we're rehearsed enough to do without. We basically played the EP without all the fun stuff- and I didn't turn my OCD off the whole time- and that was that.

Some random lady asked the promoterd00d "what are they so angry about?" (Our response being "everything". Which elicited a  response.)

Damn, dooder. That kinda sucks the dick, BUT. It sounds like atleast you guys still got the job done performance-wise, as I saw no note of that bit being a problem? That would've been interesting to hear a more stripped down version of Garda, at the least for people who have seen you before possibly, maybe? Dodgy ass technology though, man. Always works until the most important moment.

Damn Snaxie. Despite the setbacks though, it was probably in the end a success, what with some good exposure at a good gig and such.

So on this non-specific day I'm gonna go ahead and wish us all a happy non-denominational winter solstice celebration. Drink deep my friends. :huzzah:
