I smacked it into my palm, and a square glob of dirt remained. The exact size and shape of the fan.

I should probably do this. My computers innards haven't been cleaned for at least a year. I noticed the processor makes some funny sounds when it's under strain :red:

Best is to take the garden hose to it.

We did the first part of the project this work was based on pretty much 5 years ago to the day, the second part a year or so later and then I started cobbling it all together sometime in 2009. The review copy should be uploaded today if I can make sense of the damn submission requirements

Oh and yeah, academic/science shiz. Its about ice nucleation in clouds.

There is some truth to the Big Console Outboard Hardware thing. Better clarity and separation and everything just sounds fuller. I can hear the space in between the kick and snare. I heart the SSL desk.

Also, I really like NS10s and how they translate. And they do not sound horribly dissimilar to the speakers I'm mixing on at home. :hypno: The bigger KRKs (to say nothing of the soffit-mounted Augspurger mains!) do not, so the transition was easy. They were just the better sounding speakers to use and we did the majority of the work on them.

And the staff engineer (who works with Every Time I Die, Anthrax and some others you might like, Cam :huzzah: ) was a pleasure to work with; complimentary and treated me as a peer. Usually when bands- it's a commercial studio open every day, so it's not just big deal acts- bring in things they've tracked themselves, they're fucked-up in myriad ways. He was relieved to find that not only was there not anything wrong with them, that they actually sounded quite good, and sonically interesting to boot. He had the same reservations as I had- and everyone on here had, too- about the drum sounds painting us into a corner re: what we can do with the mix, but in their defense they did fit. I want to do them differently next time anyhow for the same reason.

All in all, goodtimes, good mix. :nods:

And we used that Soviet tank compressor on the kick drum.

Sounds like a great experience Snaxie. I have been privileged to get into some high end studios and it is a treat. Great to hear you seem to be getting the respect.

In my world, I was contacted to day to play the part of Izzy in an established G'n'R tribute band. No a lot of gigs but the pay is awesome. Coverbands make good money, tribute bands make stupid good money

Yeah, fuck it, G'n'R band would be fun to just rock out wif. I mean, there is no way that the singer they have is going to be as grating as Axl, right? So in a way, it would be even better than playing in the real Guns And Roses.

But yeah, AC/DC, Aerosmith(like old aerosmith), G'n'R, The Who, these would all be fun tribute bands to play in.

And Snaxo, that sounds doap about the studiotimes. Looking forward to hearing what comes out of those fancy toys.

Snog has been posted up; we have another session coming up in a couple weeks.

Ripped a fat bowl of salvia last night.
Heard voices, extreme hallucinations, etc.

Pretty fucking insane where my trip took me for a minute.
Where ever I "went" there were people trying to send me back to reality and they were talking to me.
My transportation apparently took place on something similar to the face of a clock, but it wasn't fully two-dimensional..
There were lots of contradictive little things like that happening.
Anyways, this "clock" was numbered 1-17 and I was trying to get out at 16 and they were telling me I couldn't leave yet and part of myself was spilling over into "16".
But I ended up getting off at 17 (which was reality) with the most crushingly depressed thought;
"Fuck.. this place again?".

That's more or less how my trip ended.

Really..?
I've heard it works like, 50% of the time for some people and shit.
FWIW, I've also heard some salvia just isn't quality shit and doesn't work.

Personally, I smoked 20x and held it in until my eyes started to vibrate (what I was told to do).
