Regular Fuzz Factory. I'm actually unfamiliar with the Fat Fuzz Factory- I haven't been keeping up on these things.
Finally got the Manlius True Range (boutiquey Wide Range clone-ish 'bucker) installed in the silverburst Tele at late o'clock AM, so no real tone report other than "it works, I soldered it right" and "it seems to pair well with the bridge pickup". It does look cool as hell with a mirror chrome pickguard though.

Got a cheap squier neck on its way to bolt onto my old strat copy body so I can have a cheap mess around guitar for drop tunings on, it'll probably stay in C standard most of the time

I hear that. In fact, I just did that again, as MF had a Moog tremolo pedal for $89. I needed a good tremolo anyway.
No, seriously, I was actually planning on buying one anyway. I was looking at the Fulltone Supa Trem, but Chris from Garda already bought one, and what would the fun be in having identical pedals?
The Fuzz Factory kicks ass, by the by. I was pretty surprised at how easy it was to dial in a conventionally "good" sound. The squealing squealiness is instantly recognizable, but it'll take a bit of figgerin' to see where the best settings are for that.

When i first built mine, i found these charts of decent utility to suss out general knob interaction/behaviours:
Someone once posted them at HC way back when i ever went there.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Project cheap strat is nearing completion. All wired up and ready to go, just waiting on my neck now. I may eventually buy a new pickguard but I kinda like the gaffer taped up holes Hopefully the SD Custom Custom won't be too bright without a tone knob and a 500k pot. From what I remember it was kinda mushy before thanks to the AII magnet so hopefully it'll open it up a bit. Anyone else find soldering strangely relaxing?
It's gonna be a compact HTPC/Gaming/Programming rig. It will run Windows 8.1 for now, but soon I will be buying a Samsung 850-Pro to migrate Windows over to, and then load OSx on the 850-Evo and yay hackintosh!

They're playing in Raleigh and not NYC and I love to point that out to my wife.

Roadtrip.
July 11...
Garda Chris's wife was joking about this the other day- she said something to the effect that for the cost of two good seats, they could buy a new giant-ass flatscreen, a Stones concert DVD and hold an excellent party at their house.
I grew up in the town the stadium's actually located in. There's a college campus across the street where my friend's mom was an art professor (think she's retired now?). When we were young and stupid, we used to boost the keys for the graphic arts computer lab and go there at fuckall in the morning to play Marathon (am I dating myself here or what? ) PVP on the Mac network there. It's a nice place, but the stadium's basically on the dividing point between stripmall and woodsy edge-suburb. You're somewhere between sprawl and horsefarm there. The hockey arena downtown is much closer to places of interest. There's been some discussion of moving the football stadium as the same d00d owns both teams now; given the pace of urban renewal in Buffalo I figure by 2040 we should have a plan there.
If you're staying in the city proper, I can point you in the direction of rockmusics, foodstuffs, etc. I know my way around a bit.

Maybe it's just a matter of taste but to me, no it wouldn't be too bright.
At this point I just kill the tone pot, if it's humbuckers. I just don't want them, ever. At least for what I do.
Definitely not too bright, it sounds beefy as fuck haha. A bit muddy actually. I don't use tone knobs either, on my SG and LP they're just there for aesthetics but I would gladly get rid of them to be honest
not bad for about a £50 spend on the neck, I had pretty much all the other parts lying around.
Actually thinking about trying the regular Custom (if that's the AV magnet version) in my SG, I like the output and general tone of this pickup in the bridge

This might happen. I'm not sure how much longer they will tour, and I can't miss Keef live. I've never seen them. Not sure why this happened. If this road trip happens I will let you know. I have secured lodgings at my cousins in Rochester which is an hour away but free. Free is good. So I will probably buy tickets and if I don't go just sell them. I am hoping for them to extend the tour and make it down here.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Picked up a BBE Supa Charger pedalboard PSU off the 'bay. Exciting stuff, power supplies, I know, but I'll have a proper pedalboard again. I like this.
I think this'll be a respectable board for general rock porpoises: Z. Vex Fuzz Factory --> Korg DT10 tuner --> MSD Silver Machine wah --> Bogner Uberschall --> Moog MF Trem --> BBE Mind Bender analog chorus/vibrato--> Seymour Duncan Deja Vu analog delay with tap tempo--> Digitech Polara 'verb. Curiously lacking in spaceship sounds, maybe, but it's all quality stuff.

I just splurged and bought an Ibanez AD-202. 660 ms of pure mn3005 analog delay WILL BE MINE

I am on the hunt for one of the Voodoo labs Pedal Power PLus dohickeys since I need a decent power supply and the PP+ is ok for the Eventide.
Not exciting, but is needed.

a kinda sloppy rendition of one of my favourite songs with the new guitar. Probably used too much gainz but I like how it sounds for this kinda thing.

The BBE Supa Charger (which, according to the guy from Voodoo Lab on TGP, is a straight-up clone of the PP2) is ginormous. I expected it to be small. It's larger than most of my pedals, and probably weighs even more than the wah. You could beat someone with this thing- and as we've discussed, this is a fine criterion by which to judge gear's worth. It will take up a lot of boardspace, but it beats the fustercluck of adaptors which were on my old board. Everything on the current board is 9v, but it will do 12 and 16v if it ever comes up. Proper isolated power, too, so it's not just a glorified daisy chain.
The Moog tremolo is fun- higher tone and depth settings can add an almost synth-like edge to things. More conventional settings and slower rates had me playing Shine On Your Crazy Diamond.
We were joking at rehearsal about dropping, say, eight or sixteen bars of Iron Man into the middle of something for no apparent reason, just for the sake of confusing people.
