What vids/gear?
I haven't heard anything super convincing yet from the expensivo heavy distortion pedal market, myself(aside from some of the actual HV tube-based shizz).
Always curious though.

I can't trust any high gainer demo recorded that quietly. Just about anything sounds good at that low volume. In my opinion, what makes or breaks a high gain pedal is how it sounds at drummer volume. For me, that is where the amps start to destroy the pedals in clarity and general badassedry.
I actually like the fizziness of that middle one. A Zvex Box Of Metal clone maybe? Sounds like it. Would probably be awesome for running vocals or drum loops through.

I understand you completely on the headroom comment. I believe the Dominator one is designed to cut through the mix very well, but I am not entirely sure on the others though. http://www.stompbox.de/dominator_english.html
No denying that the middle looks/sounds similar to the Zvex, I bet it is a clone.

I have been places that still have those signs up.
In all fairness, these are the kinds of places most "colored" are trying to avoid anyway.
