I can't find a book I bought a couple months ago, and can finally get around to reading. ![]() Fucking hell. And the very same night I realized it was lost, I realize my Soundgarden Badmotorfinger is AWOL. I think maybe a friend borrowed it some three or four years ago. This was reason enough for me to drink more beer.

I always enjoyed the stuff Larry Niven wrote with Jerry Pournelle. Not Jerry Cantrell, who is someone else entirely and to the best of my knowledge is not a science-fiction writer. Also, yes. You have been stolen from. Cut off their hands. |

Larry Niven is awesome. His stuff is totally hard sci fi, yet he still manages to take the 'fi' aspect to an extreme. Such that I can reread his stuff every couple years and still enjoy, because there's such a wealth of things going on that it seems fresh after a while. My Dimensions Divide song 'Relativistic Speeds' owes a little something to him and this book:
