Hey. I feel like i have seen something like this before, but i can't place where.

Does there exist, a hinged monitor?

Maybe hard to explain, but basically, it occurred to me that it would be useful to have something that folded like a laptop, but that was just a monitor.

So like just the screen, and a power and video connector, no hard drives or anything else?

Seems like it would be real useful for something like a portable rackmount (but burly desktop PC-based) recording rig.

Does it exist?

yes we use these all the time in server racks. You can probably find them used on Ebay pretty easily.

Yeah, i totally forgot about all of the server rooms i have been in. I think i might have blocked those memories out.

Lately i have been really interested in the concept of a rackmounted portobeastiecomputer though. I love this laptop so much. But i do have problems with firewire synching on occasion and other downsides to its laptop-based format. The idea of something just a bit bigger, but like even more powerful, and even more reliable, is very interesting. Definitely something to aim for on the (way long term) horizon for me.

But yeah, there are shit tons of these monitordrawer buggers on ebay for lowcost.
