does the rhythm guitarist play the harmony in a riff or does the lead guitarist play the harmony??? |

Well, in one of the current bands I'm in I am basically the rhythm guitarist, although I do a fair share of leads, here's the lead guitarist plays which ever part he feels more comfortable with and I play the other. In each case so far he sticks to the main line and I do the harmony. Just the way it has worked out. It may be that the g\rhythm guy before me didn't do the harmonies so the lead gtr just took the most prominant part. |

Depends on the arrangement. I've done it both ways. I AM TALKING ABOUT HARMONY LEADS, DAMMIT. The way I've done this in the past is generally whomever is playing lead, usually me, keeps on doing what they're doing and when the harmony kicks in it's the rhythm d00d's problem to switch from what he's chugging on to cover it. |
