This is the US Navy's new experimental railgun. The ship is commanded by an actual Captain James Kirk. Alas, his middle name is not Tiberius. Which is a shame. Nobody names their kid Tiberius anymore. |

Why couldn't Captain Kirk get out of bed? Because he was KLINGON TO A DREAM. Have they shot anything with it? |

That's how I'd mic a chicken. Here's an interesting one. VHS artifacts (they're obvious when they happen) aside, this is a fine demonstration of old-school piano tunings. When I am living somewhere with room for a proper piano- which I don't have at the moment- it's not gonna be in modern equal temperament. The older tunings sound better, IMO. More character. |

That launched me on an interesting wiki romp. Like The Wolf Interval, and other things that never occurred to me to be a problem since we tune how we do. |

That is a very classy large beaver, yes.
I just want to mention this is excellent. Etymology and linguistic history fascinate me. I note the closest thing to English on here is Frisian, and I've heard it stated it borders on intelligible to an English-speaker. I've never heard anyone speaking Frisian, though, so I'm going to have to look into that. I'm somewhat surprised Finnish is so close to Swedish; it doesn't look very close to much of anything else that I've seen, but my knowledge of the language is limited and mostly gleaned from metal bands. Hungarian, of course, isn't really related to much of anything else. I also note Basque isn't on here at all, and that really, really isn't related to any other currently extant language at all- that might be the closest surviving thing to Proto-Indo-European, at least according to some linguistic scholars. |

Is this a materials test(i see a hose there), or a natural-ish accident? Also, this is a pretty solid example of why i am likely to avoid travel in submarines in the future. I mean, it would be over pretty quick, but fuck, it would hurt pretty good for that pretty quick. |
