I am still very much undecided on Yeung and the drum production.. And undecided in general. But I think it will grow on me. And Vincent sounds great. |

When I first heard it it reminded me of Domination. Now it reminds me more of Covenant. |

Tons of trem riffing a la Domination for sure. Not enough doom/sludge for me to be Covenant-y. |

Cause they were one of the first and certainly one of the most influential DM bands and are still active. The era of "classic" Morbid Angel has been dead since like 1997 (if you consider Formulas the last great one like I do). The stuff you just heard is not what MA fans would normally be raving on about. |

I'd actually prefer they had stuck with Steve Tucker. I feel like Vincent's out of touch with the br00tz and is deliberately trying to be something he isn't anymore. But that's just me. Also... EXISTOFULGORE. ![]() Also... does that one palm muted thing remind you of Smooth Criminal? |

I don't listen to much metal these days, but I like that Decapitated record and old-school Morbid Angel. For those who've heard it: worth my time? I'm not horribly familiar with Yeung's drumming; I know him more by name than anything. I think I've mostly heard him on some demos a guy I used to be in a band with cut in the '90s at a regional metal-focusd studio, which save for the Divine Heresy record (which didn't grab me) is probably all I've heard of his work. |
