On March 21, we put our previous dog down. She was fighting liver cancer and her health went downhill real fast in just under a week. Probably the saddest/worst thing I've ever been through in my life, but the best way to get over the pain of losing a friend like that is to get another and we've been looking at new dogs for a while and today we picked one up.
She's 4 months old right now and about 35 lbs. She's an Akita mix, not sure what else she is, but she's dominantly Akita for sure. For those of you who don't know about the Akita breed, they're pretty much one of the most bad ass dogs on the planet.

Here she is in all her sleepy worn out glory. Her paw is almost the size of my palm already so she's going to get pretty big we think. We can't decide on a name just yet, but I've been wanting to call her Simba.
And may our previous dog rest in piece, she is not forgotten.
