I didn't actually know what CBS meant, but I believe it refers to the bigger headstocks which look approximately 50x cooler.

It refers to when Fender was bought by CBS. When they took over, they made a few design changes, like the big CBS headstock. If you hear about a
pre-CBS vintage Fender, that thing is worth some monnney.


I like both headstocks. I think the original has a more slick look that I like for the more modern stuff. I like the CBS headstock for the more vintage-designed models. If I get a proper (two single coils, crazy switching and a the original break angle) I would prefer the CBS on there.

I'm considering wrapping that pickguard in aluminum foil and clear coating it, or spray painting it another color. White on black is just sooooo last decade.
