I figger if get a couple hours of sleep I can still roll with it and be fine for the show and doing my laundry and sleeping the rest of the day.  The problem is when my total inability to be awake at normal human hours starts impacting my work. And work fucks with me enough when I'm well-rested, mostly sober and my brain isn't full of rot. Oh, to actually like what I do and be able to function in social environments and deal with things that are not at all consistent...

OK, I did Maker's last night, first gig with big cover band with management. I hate giving THE MAN money but THE MAN know how to get the band lots of gigs and great money. I don't want to mention how much this band gets for cover gigs, but it's insane. Let's say it's 6 piece, we pay 15% to the man, and another $150 to the sound guy and I still walk away with more money than the other gigs I've done in the past couple of years. |
