Bach's G Minor Fugue is all sorts of funtimes to play.

Re: Fugues are about the best thing ever Yeah Beethoven's late stuff is tough to beat. I wish he had gone deaf earlier, the fugue in the first movement of his 14th quartet is fucking gorgeous. Also, that second movement of Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms is amazing... there's a fugue in the instruments, then a separate fugue in the voices, then he throws both fugues on top of each other. Fugue orgy

Re: Fugues are about the best thing ever I heart fugues greatly. I did a paper on fugues a long ass time ago... they consistently defeat many other forms of music greatly.

Re: Fugues are about the best thing ever Absolutely. I don't think any type of music brings me as much enjoyment as a really good fugue. A really good one can be emotionally charged, like Beethoven's late stuff, and also really stimulating to my brain to listen to. Fucking awesome.
