Fireman: "Are you guys having any problems with your alarms, or reports of smoke in your hotel." Me: *poker face* "Uh, no definitely not." Fireman: "OK, well we had a report at the [hotel up the street] and they said maybe it was you guys. Do you have six floors?" Me: "No, just five." Fireman: "Oh, OK well it can't be you, the report said it was on the sixth or eighth floor." As he walks out all I can think is, "Somewhere, there is a hotel on fire and no one is coming." |

It was definitely not the seventh floor; this he seems sure of. |

hmmm, well if they went door-to-door at the hotels in your area, there couldn't be very many, right?... it's not like it's a touristy area or anything... let's see *googles Murtle Beech* *google suggests Myrtle Beach* Next time they may want an address or something |

Total Fireman Fun Time Prank. On slow days, they just cruise around all lights&sirens'd-up and randomly stop someplace and try to give the dood behind the counter heart problems. I mean: that is what i would do if i was a fireman. That can be one slow-ass motherfucking job. |

Alternately: the thing they make the New Guy do on his first shift as part of a series of elaborate hazing rituals. |

I mean, it is easy enough to count how many floors a building has(if it is only five to eight) from, like, outside, sitting in the fire truck... Especially if you are in the business of firefighting, where it is a skillset that could be expected to fall into use quite frequently? |

The other fireman went to the other 15 story building next door, so who knows really. It was definitely ... strange, to say the least. |
