Note all the things I've been mentioning, like how the Sensitone snare magically cut through everything without a mic. Damn, this was just so fun too.

Still doubles. All that work for my singles actually made me way worse for a while. It's a matter of balance... all the strain I was putting on my muscles and the over analyzation of my technique made it impossible for me to keep balance on the stool. Now I'm mostly past that and... I think I might have gained ten bpm! So I guess it didn't go well.Blast are two feets... Thanks dude.

Yeah man, if you can get the volume, mic'd or triggered, whatever, use whatever works for you. The kicks are cutting through even on the video so i would say it seems to be working for you. Especially if it helps you keep up a clean speedy, and be comfortable at it. I would try at doubles but they just don't feel right to me, and never have. That goes for my hands too, almost everything i do is singlestrokes. This basically ties me to a very low speed when it comes to the kicks(i can almost one foot faster  ), but oh well.

Yeah doubles on the feet are especially strange I guess. A lot of drummers with faster feet than me have the same comment. But it's right for me... my legs don't want to move fast but stomping on my pedals slowly and then flicking my ankles, that's something I can do. The kick was miced by the way... brought my Avantone mic... |
